This is the cake the kids and I made for my grandmother. The picture really doesn’t do it any justice. The “flowers” are actually small cupcakes frosted over, with candy petals! Yum! We made sure to leave a spot with no candy for G-Ma.
She didn’t know we were coming over. So we surprised her. She recently went through a hell of a time having back surgery for stress fractures. It was hard watching her change from her usual self to a weaker version. But she’s back to normal now! She was all smiles for her “party”! She even got up out of her chair with no cane a bunch of times. She used a cane BEFORE the surgery. Sheesh. This woman is a rock.
Milo took this photo. Don’t they look great? G-Ma is 88! That’s my dad. Yes ladies… he’s STILL single!
My grandma is in her 70′s; my great-granny is 95 this year. It’s so awesome having them at that time of their life. It’s as if the whole world suddenly makes more sense when you’re over 70 and they share all the wisdom with me.
