I have a lot of new readers, so I’ll take a second and explain this. We began geocaching in Vermont last summer. Before we left, we sent 5 travel bugs into the world with the hopes of tracking them, and eventally trying to get them back to Seattle. Periodically, I receive updates on our travelers.
For a full explanation and to meet our “friends” click here.
We received word a few days ago that W-D4D had been picked up in West Rutland, VT. We knew the cold winter might wreak havoc on his metal hinges and make movement difficult, but we didn’t expect it to affect his brain, errr chip.
He is supposed to log his travels in haiku. However, this was what we received:
“New friends help Robot move”
It’s not even close to proper haiku form! First, Jacques Le Sock went missing. Now this! I sure hope the warmer weather brings better days for our friends.
No word from Vader, Belle, or Optimus Prime who has been under a bridge in California for quite some time now.
Inspirations for Life Long Learners:
Classroom Creativity – “Everybody wants a creative child – in theory. The reality of creativity, however, is a little more complicated, as creative thoughts tend to emerge when we’re distracted, daydreaming, disinhibited and not following the rules. In other words, the most imaginative kids are often the trouble-makers.”
Kids Learn Math Easily When They Control their Own Learning – “We fear it and loathe it; we admire but are also suspicious of those who are good at it; we place it in such high esteem that we make children study (or pretend to study) it almost every day of every year that they are in school; and we use it as a major criterion for college entry.”
Your Children Are Not Obligated To Repay You – “That was all fine and well, but then Liz complained about how awful Paul’s room always looked. Dirty and messy. She said, “He needs to be more grateful. Without my brother’s help, who knows where he would’ve wound up.””
Knowing vs. Understanding -”I was searching the underside of a square, plastic camera battery this morning, looking for a model number when I read the warning label: Do Not Incinerate. Do Not Expose To High Temps. Do Not Disassemble.”
Thanks for the linky love my dear!

Great links, thanks for sharing. And I hope your geocaching is enjoyable even with the loss of the travel bugs. I bet they are just having so much fun they forgot to check in. Then again, they may be stuck in the mud here in VT!

Well just one is missing.
I just like to pretend they are real people. I’ve actually considered starting them their own blog. Would that be cool to go back to someday?
