Blackberry Spice Cupcakes (Gluten Free)

It’s blackberry season.  My neighbor runs a stand at a bunch of farmer’s markets and sometimes the vendors give him fruits and veggies that won’t last.  He’s just one guy, so he often brings them over here.  15 pints of blackberries later, we’ll never run out of preserves and I developed a new cupcake recipe.  [...]

Gluten Free Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcakes

Happy Independence Day America!  I try not to say Happy 4th of July.  Sure, it *is* the fourth of July and all, but I think it takes away from the meaning of this holiday.  Not that I don’t love beer and barbecues, but we should all remember why this holiday exists in the first place.  [...]

Basic Gluten Free Cup Cake Recipe

A few people have been asking about my cupcakes lately, so I thought I would post my basic cake recipe.  I prefer to bake gluten free and as many people know gluten free cookies and cakes often don’t measure up to their gluten-full counterparts.  No worries here.  My gluten free baked goods have been surprising [...]

Ingredients:

6 cups organic milk
2/3 cup tapioca pearls (Bob’s Red Mill)
4 organic egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
2/3 organic sugar
2 medium [...]

Artisan Ice Cream

Oh boy.  Have you been misled.  I enticed you in with that nice little title, and I bet you had visions of me sitting down with my family making a nice batch of specialty ice cream.  Wrong.  But since your here, there is no sense in leaving right?
I am surrounded by men.  I married one.  [...]

Gluten Free Swiss Orange Cookies

Milo loves to cook with me. He made these cookies mostly by himself. All I did was direct a little. It was nice to spend the time with him. It gets hard to get quality one on one time with the boys sometimes.
(for the non-gluten free version substitute the flours with [...]

Gluten Free Pasta

I’ve been wanting to try making gluten free pasta on my own. From what I hear, TJ’s grandmother used to make all her pasta and now sometimes makes it when it’s just her and his grandfather for supper. Actually, she GAVE me her pasta maker when TJ called to see if I could [...]

Dude... Ranch Popcorn

This is actually not from a dude ranch at all. I just really like the sounds of “Dude Ranch”. Which brings to mind, “Hey, Dude” on Nickelodeon when I was a kid. Oh man, I LOVED that show! something about those camp shows, dreaming about being away from home, meeting boys, [...]
